story

Linda is an actual dream!! She surpassed all our expectations and more. The talent she has for putting together such a well-written, thoughtful and romantic piece is unreal. She spent hours getting to know us, furiously wrote pages and pages of notes about our story, gave us homework to do and then intertwined everything into such a moving, emotional ceremony.

Every single person I spoke to about our wedding ceremony said how wonderful it was to hear our story, and loved how personalised it was.

Her work is true art - anyone unsure about the idea of a Humanist ceremony should absolutely try it!

Thank you Linda - you have given us such amazing memories.

Melisa and Stephen, 2021

It started with a phone call.

A very excited phone call to tell me that my dream job really did exist.

I love people. I love finding out about their stories, learning about their values and beliefs and building up long lasting connections. So when I found out that I could intertwine all of those things into my job, I knew I’d hit a winning formula.

That, and I love a wedding.

That career changing phone call came from my brother and his (now) wife after they met their humanist wedding celebrant. After watching them make their promises to one another, in a ceremony completely personal to them, under the shade of an oak tree in Kent, I knew I had to investigate how I could make this dream job a reality.

Fast forward a few years, I am now a fully accredited celebrant with Humanists UK, planning and delivering bespoke and unique ceremonies in Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond.

Linda is amazing! She was literally everything we could have dreamed of when we first imagined getting married. She spent so much time getting to know us and 'our story' and on the day delivered the most beautiful ceremony which was completely 'us'.

Alice and Chelsey, 2019

Born in Edinburgh, raised in the midlands and now residing in Yorkshire (with a brief stop off in Canada!) I like to believe that I can call myself a northern girl.

When I’m not meeting lovely couples or writing ceremonies, I manage an ace team of careers professionals at York St John University, helping students to think about their careers, enterprise and wellbeing.

In my spare time you can usually find me exploring the northern hills, swimming/paddling about in a river or two, cooking up an absolute storm in the kitchen, pretending I’m an extra in Mad Men, or perhaps spending a little too much time browsing Pinterest.

This chapter, for me, started with a phone call, and I’m so glad it did. I can’t wait to find out all about you both and how you’re going to celebrate starting your next chapter!
